BYU takes on New Mexico St. in the Cougars’ final home game of the season. Continue reading
It’s a gridiron graduation party for some of the Cougars, but the New Mexico St. Aggies have momentum coming off their shootout win against Fresno St. last week.
It will also be a second chance for Jake Heaps, who will start at quarterback for the first time since Utah St. earlier this season. Heaps had a solid performance against Idaho last week, filling in for an injured Riley Nelson.
On the other side of the ball, the defense will have its hands full with the Aggies’ high-octane offense…just ask Bronco:
“(They’re) very explosive offensively, with good speed and athleticism at running back, receiver, and mobile quarterback. Kind of a wide open style, uptempo.”
That explosive offense is let by wide receiver and kick returner Taveon Rogers, but it BYU’s stingy pass defense can keep the Aggies’ aerial attack grounded the Cougars will send the Seniors home happy.
