PAYSON– A Payson neighborhood suddenly turned into a crime scene when a driver allegedly hit and killed an eight-year-old child while driving under the influence.
Officials said Tabatha Magoon made a “wide” right turn that struck 8 year old Kaydon Sillitoe, who was later pronounced dead from his injuries. Payson Police took the driver into custody after the accident.
“There were some indications that there were drugs in the system of the driver,” Lt. Bill Wright said.
Officer Wright continued saying a urine sample taken at the utah county jail showed meth, oxycodone, and opiates in magoon’s system.
Kaydon’s grandmother read a statement saying that there were “no words to express the pain, heartache, and even anger” that they feel. The community held a vigil for Kaydon last night and started two GoFundMe pages to help with funeral expenses.
