PROVO – With 279 electoral votes, Donald Trump clinched the position of President on Tuesday evening. Reactions from Brigham Young University students on Trump’s status as President Elect have been mixed.
Jared Lorimier, a Trump supporter, said that although he voted for the candidate, he was still upset.
“It was a huge upset, we all know that, and I think that that says a lot about how people feel about the government nowadays and the way that they want things to be. So I’m proud to be an American today,” Lorimier said.
Hannah Uffens, a Clinton supporter, said she’s ashamed of the country, especially the Utah area.
Student Jared Lowe said that, “. . . Either way it was going to be a disaster, so we’ll see how it goes.”
