PROVO, Utah – Some people feel that, despite their best efforts, they always blow their budget. But now there’s an app for that.
ProActive Budget landed first place at the 2017 Brigham Young University Mobile App Competition. It works by transferring money from your bank account to your ProActive account and split that money into budget categories. If there isn’t enough money in a category, the ProActive visa is declined. Money is transferable from other categories, but the user’s spouse gets a notification.
App creator Clay Ellis said those who struggle with self-control can benefit from this app.
“Everyone could use more money, but in my opinion it’s not a matter of income, though it helps. The amount of money that you bring in as income, that’s different for everyone and that’s a good starting point, but to me the major problem is discipline,” Ellis said.
