PROVO, UT – BYU’S softball team has had a strong season so far, and it’s not over, as BYU advances to regionals this week.
Catcher Libby Sugg has high expectations for herself and her team as the season is coming to a close. Sugg is listed as one of Fast Pitch Nation’s top 10 NCAA sophomores to watch in 2017 and she is leading the team with 52 RBI’s and 12 home runs.
The Cougars have not advanced to a Super Regional since 2010, but Sugg says she thinks they can go far. BYU’s softball team recently won at conference, and are now headed to compete in a regional tournament today.
The competition, which is being hosted by the University of Utah, includes 64 teams who are all competing for a spot in the 16-team super regional, which begins next weekend.
The Cougars’ first game will be played today 4 PM against Mississippi State.
