PROVO, UT – The BYU track and field team recently qualified for regionals, and arrived at the event ready to compete this week.
BYU’s track team has the second highest number of entries in the NCAA this season, and are currently ranked in the top 10 for 12 events, including distance running, pole vaulting, and hurdles. The team hopes to qualify for nationals.
The athletes have been training hard this year to prepare for the occasion. “It was just fun watching people grind and work towards getting to Regionals,” Runner Sidney Reilly stated. “I think we have a record number of people going this year.”
The event, hosted by UTAustin, will host over 60 schools in the western region, including BYU, Oregon State University, and USC. The event can be watched live at www.texassports.com/watch.
