OREM, UT – Residents of Utah County gathered together to celebrate the grand opening of Orem’s new dog park this week.
The new recreation area, titled the Bark Park, is located at Timpanogos Park, and offers dogs and their owners a place they have been waiting for after years of planning. At the park, you can find specialized droning fountains, washing stations, and even a fire hydrant.
Orem Mayor Richard Brunst says he’s long awaited the day that pets and their owners could both appreciate the park. Brunst stated, “You can just come up here and have a lot of fun and let your dogs run wild and enjoy themselves and just enjoy the ambiance of nature up here.”
The park was funded through the Orem Care Tax, which is set aside for recreation and cultural arts. City officials plan to expand the grounds sometime next year.
