PROVO, UT – The Provo Recreation Center recently celebrated its fourth birthday, and had a great deal to celebrate, considering their successful strategies to retain membership.
The Washington Post reported that 80% of Americans drop out of their exercise programs after two years. Despite this, The Provo Rec Center actually has been seeing rising memberships, and currently serves 23 thousand members.
Rec Center management stated that their goal is to remove exercise barriers for their members. “We’ve had a lot of new patrons and new residents over the last four years share their stories with us of getting past some of that and getting here and getting into healthier routines”, stated manager Bryce Merrill.
The facility offers a wide variety of programs and events to help its members find ways to live a healthy lifestyle, including swimming pools, basketball, volleyball and racquetball courts, as well as exercise equipment and group exercise classes.
The Recreation Center recognizes that there are still thousands of people in Provo that are not members, and managers hope to keep expanding their facilities to better serve their patrons.
