PROVO – The BYU swim team is currently training off campus following commencement on renovations for their home pool.
Construction teams began renovating the Richards Building pool last March. Since then, BYU’s swim team has been training at the Provo Recreation Center, which is located several blocks from BYU campus. The team plans to continue practice this winter at the outdoor heated pool at the Riverside Country Club in Provo.
Swim team member Shawn Western stated regarding the team’s winter accommodations, “I’m definitely nervous about people staying healthy, just ‘cuz we have to swim outside when it starts to get pretty cold and it’s not an easy thing to do.”
Despite the complications of finding a new pool and an altered schedule, the teammates still expect to have a successful season this coming year.
