PLEASANT GROVE – Every Fourth of July, non-profit group Follow the Flag hoists an American flag across the trail head in Pleasant Grove, and this year they are going above and beyond.
Since 2015, Kyle Fox has flown an American flag in Grove Creek Canyon in Pleasant Grove. This year, he will fly a 400 pound American flag over the canyon.
The flag stands more than ten feet tall folded, and unfurls to the size of a quarter of a football field. This will be the largest free-flying American flag in the world.
“We love to give back,” Fox says. “We just wanna share it with anyone and everyone that may have heartache, pain, suffering, or have lost loved ones in fighting for our freedoms.”
Gail Halvorsen, the Candy Bomber, will open the ceremony on the Fourth of July. For more information, visit Follow the Flag’s Facebook page.
